Learning to Fly: An Arm Balance Intensive

Join us as we break down arm balances into the essential components that will allow students to incorporate them into vinyasa sequences. Arm balances can be decoded into building blocks that are an integral part of our everyday practice. Strength is not as important as understanding these invaluable tools that will allow students to fly and flow. 

Often intimidating, arm balances can be accessible by having a knowledge of the simple “building blocks.” The bandhas or locks allow the core to engage and bring balance as well as stabilization to the body. We will overview the bandhas (mula bandha and uddiyana bandha) as they are integral pieces to activating the strength that rests within each body in order to take flight. 

Arm balances allow us to cultivate strong energy and add dynamism into sequences. They alert the nervous system and awaken chakras. Muscle engagement and energetic focal points vary depending on the pose. Aligning and working with this system establishes a strong base and releases a waterfall of benefits for the mind, body and spirit.

Included in the workshop will be arm balances such as Bakasana, Titibasana and Koundinyasana as well as integrated flow sequences. Find your confidence, strength and balance and come fly with us!
